Spring at Verbena: our new, modern British inspired small plates menu

Spring has well and truly arrived this week and we’re starting to notice the bulbs starting to bloom. At Verbena we’re surrounded by nature, with the River Rea just on our doorstep. The river is a great place to forage and we’re keeping an eye out for wild garlic, chickweed, blossoms and magnolia.

We share our favourite foraging recipes via our newsletter. Scroll down to the bottom of this post if you’d like to sign up to hear all of our latest news, as well as getting foraging tips straight to your inbox.

Our ethos at Verbena is ingredient led, Modern British Dining and our Spring dinner menu is full of seasonally inspired small plates.

Spring menu favourites: home smoked trout, chocolate torte, quiche Lorraine croquettes

Some of our favourites are our hazelnut & chocolate torte, with praline ice cream. This is one of our most decadent deserts. We also love our smoked trout pate, with dill oil, and sourdough crisp. This dish involves smoking our own fish and I really love the process. Finally, give the quiche lorraine croquettes with gruyère a try. We love a quiche Lorraine anyway and it’s amazing in croquette form.
