May is a busy month at Verbena! We have pop ups, collaborations and a whole load more. Find out what’s on at our South Birmingham restaurant
As we move into May, we’re really embracing the energy shift as we move into summer. At Verbena we love bringing you new and exciting collaborations, where we team up with some of our favourite people and there’ll be a whole host of exciting pop ups and take overs next month. If you’re not familar with us, we are a Modern British restaurant located in the heart of Stirchley, South Birmingham. Our name was inspired by the Verbena flower, which is Chloë’s (Verbena’s owner) mom’s favourites. You can read more about that here!
May is looking to be a really busy and exciting month for us and we’ll be hosting everything from Japanese cooker classes to tasting menus. Our May events will be a fantastic opportunity to experience new and unique flavours and enjoy some amazing food. Keep reading to find out all about our May events! You can book in here.

We’re excited to be hosting Sachiko Saeki for a series of Japanese cookery classes. Sachiko is also an experienced teacher and she’s taught at Leiths in London, Demuths Vegetarian Cookery School in Bath, Harborne Food School in Birmingham, White Pepper Chef Academy in Poole, and many others.
On the 21st May Sachiko will be hosting a sushi making class, where you’ll create salmon nigiri, salmon and avocado inside out rolls, vegetable and salmon rolls and gunkan sweet corn mayo.
